Here at Noa&Nani we’re happy to be known as a hub for fun and fabulous kids’ bedroom furniture, but did you know we cater for mum and dad too? We sell single beds and double beds for teens as well as adults, and we’ve got a super sale on right now!
Since there are also some fantastic discounts on items like paint and paper in the DIY shops at the moment, we thought we’d do a roundup of the latest interior trends to stir the imagination of those planning to update their own bedrooms. Of course, you might find some of the ideas filter through into the little ones’ rooms too!
Purple and blue hues
Forget the January Blues, the blues of 2015 are strong marine and Mediterranean colours – perfect for nautically inspired or classic French-look bedrooms. Purples are also hues of the moment, though Pantone’s colour of the year is a purple-red marsala – a warm earthy tone that works well with wood and all things white. Marsala is a strong shade, so you may want to use it as an accent colour for things like bed linen. If you’re brave enough to paint the walls purple, blue or a marsala shade, keep things matte to stay on trend.
Bold colour combinations
If you’re not crazy about colour this is probably not the trend for you. This year bold shades are back and instead of statement walls we’re seeing whole colour zones combining strong shades. There’s no need to clash unless you want to but if you do, think about bringing together patterns and prints as well as shades. Geometrics, natural prints and photographic style images are all in.
Wonderful wallpaper
For years we’ve been relying on paint as a quick and cheap way to update interiors but now wonderful wallpaper is very much in demand. It may not be as easy to put up or renew but designers have been paying special attention to this wall covering and there are some really unique patterns and textures available as a result.
Textures
Speaking of textures, they’re playing an important part in a number of trends this year with natural woven and wooden textures evident in everything from furniture and accessories through to wall coverings. Whether you like to craft or not the homemade trend is still going strong too, which means patchwork quilts and pillows are making their way onto more beds.
