What is Reflex Foam?

Reflex foam is an innovative and pliable material that easily springs back into shape, like a 'reflex', hence the name. Constructed from a medium to firm, high-density polyurethane foam, the material is very similar to memory foam, but features larger bubbles. Imagine a balloon filled with water. When pressure is applied bubbles in the air do not escape, and instead is displaced 'sideways'. Once pressure is relieved, the bubbles spring back into shape and the balloon regains its shape, just like a reflex mattress. It's for this reason that the reflex foam is popular as an orthopaedic mattress, as it offers a firm yet comfortable feel. Malleable yet durable, the spongey material offers a 'bounce back' quality similar to memory foam, but without that sinking feeling. It is even used as a support layer in many memory foam mattresses.
