Kids' Bedroom Theme Ideas for Autumn 2016
Half term is here and with both you and the kids milling around the home, you may be feeling inspired to indulge in a little DIY or decorating. If you've decided that now is the time to update your little ones' bedroom, why not take some inspiration from the freshest interior trends for Autumn? Here's our take on this season's looks that are perfect for little people's bedrooms... The young explorer From globes and framed maps through to seashells sourced on trips to the seaside, at first glance the antique-inspired adventurer's trend of the season may not lend itself to kids' rooms but it really couldn't be a better fit. While boys and girls may not have a collection of photographs from yesteryear to adorn their walls, they'll love collecting oddities to bring the theme to life. Drawings of flowers and treasure maps look great in frames and pair perfectly with our Pirate Pete cabin beds. Choose bedding that features ships, planes or trains and to inspire their inner adventurer and treat them to a scratch off map that allows them to track their travels. Get little ones involved by creating a memory board together using a cork notice board. Woodland wonders Farmyard animals and jungle creatures are well worn kids' bedroom themes, so why not allow some of our fantastic British wildlife to take centre stage instead? Wallpapers and soft furnishings featuring foxes, badgers, bears and hedgehogs in autumnal shades are widely available on the high street this season. We think the woodland look suits a slightly older child's room well and a single sleigh bed like the Astrid will look perfectly at home among the critters and the trees. Choose one or two items with strong prints then complement with berry and pine base colours for a cosy feel. Creative careers Some kids have very firm ideas about what they'd like to be when they grow up. Whether they'd like to be a fireman, a journalist or want to work outdoors, why not let their imaginations fuel your creativity? Take a peek at our previous post on creating a football inspired bedroom to support the aspiring athlete in your midst. For little ones who dream of digging among the dirt, check out our digger cabin bed. Those with writing aspirations will find our cabin beds with desks underneath very handy and if your little girl or boy still has their head firmly in the clouds when it comes to their future career - check out our designs fit for fairies. leaves-colorful-color-yellow-64732 How are you spending the half term?
